'The Forms' (2014) are a series of sculptures that explores different ways of encountering the visual system/perception of lungfishes.
Patterns created by transmission electron micrographs of unknown, sub-cellular structures in the lungfish retina were exposed onto silver emulsion treated silk, and formed into abstract sculptures. The entire process was conducted in the dark.
Through microscopy, photography, sculpture, and performance, aspects of the lungfishes’ reality were poetically revealed, while questioning the level of human manipulation and agency (unseen/seen unconscious/conscious) at each stage of the process.
